Benni Bosetto
Benni Bosetto
Born in Merate, Italy, Bosetto now lives and works in Milan. Since graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, Milan, Bosetto has been the subject of several solo and group exhibitions including Campoli Presti in Paris; Almanac in Turin; and Kustraum in London.
The stories the body tells, and the way it affects or liberates the identity lies at the heart of Benni Bosetto’s practice. Her works, spanning drawing, installation, sculpture and performance aim to probe the complexity of the human being.
Bosetto proposes a view of the body as a conductor of multiple narratives, continually adapting and interacting with our environment. Anthropology, legend, news and religious beliefs become the palette that colour these narratives.
Bosetto’s diary is often the source of her titles, sometimes extracted from a book or an article that she has stumbled upon. Meaning, for Bosetto, is found between the interstices of reality when one is distracted, and thoughts are far from experiences we live in our daily life.
